We have great experience with it. I'm thinking it might be because on the box it's advertised as for kids 2,5 and older. And that's probably not correct. I think that for a 2,5 year this is not the right toy. I believe this is more for atleast 4 year old child. Perhaps even 5. Our son got it for his 5th Bday, and he loves it, and plays very well with it (once I set it up for him). At times he breaks the setup, and I have to help fix it again. But that's ok with me. I just love watch him enjoy this set. I find this particular set the easiest to set up (we have 4 different sets). I've seen several reviews complaining it falls apart easily. That's not our experience. I find it stays together pretty well. Perhaps the additional 'lock-pieces'(8 in total) that came with our set is what makes the difference. These additional 'locks' are used to attach to the high-tracks going down.Our son loves to play with thomas... Read more 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful  Absolutely the worst product we've ever bought, By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Thomas & Friends Take Along - Thomas & Percy's Carnival Adventure (Toy) We got this for our 3.5 yr old for Christmas and while it looked like a lot of fun and had the potential to be a great toy, it was so poorly constructed that every one of us has felt like throwing it out the window at some point. It falls apart with the slightest touch and it takes an adult to fix it. My son can't even gently send the trains down the spiral because at the end, they just fall off the track. This was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. If you want a GOOD train set, go with geotrax. My boys are barely 2 and 3 and it falls apart very easy on them due to them pushing too hard or leaning in on it(and we even have the stability clips for each of the 4 risers on the coaster part of the set). I will wait until they are in bed tonight and put it away for another couple of years until they are old enought to use it correctly. Otherwise, it is a cute set and my boys really do love to play with it! |
